Teen struck by lightning on golf course

A 16-year-old Bryan, Texas boy was struck by lightning while prepping for a golf lesson Tuesday afternoon. Emergency officials said the teen was at the Traditions Golf Course in southwest Bryan when the bolt struck the graphite shaft golf club he was holding.

Bryan EMS crews said when they arrived, the boy was unconscious on the practice tee.

The strike happened as a strong line of thunderstorms pushed through the Brazos Valley area about 4 p.m.

The teen was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
